It's a LOVE thing!!

OK......here we go for another challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show....and it's

All About Love!

I began my creation with Canvas by Canvas Corp.
I pulled out one of my vintage dictionaries and
tore out pages pertaining to LOVE and HEART.

The next step was to pull out my
Reinker Mixtures (Mini Mister, Distress Reinker, Perfect Pearls and Water)
and Color Wash.....

The color palette ~ SHADES OF RED...Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany,
Barn Door, Worn Lipstick and Red Pepper (color wash). I cut various sized heart from various fabrics.

I tore up the Dictionary pages and adhered them to the canvas with Multi Medium ~ Matte.

Just a little Infomerical here......if you haven't tried this product....you need to!!
It's a sealer, adhesive, transfer medium......just the BEST!!

With the Multi Medium, I painted lines, and sprinkled on Vintage Glitter Glass,
unfortunately you can't see it well.
There are a couple of "Ideaology" goodies also: the key and pin.
EVERYTHING was adhered to the canvas with that FANTABULOUS Multi Medium.

The letters were painted with Charcoal Black acrylic paint.

This is a bit different from my usual style......where's the inky edges???!??!
but it's good to do something different once in a while.....
ACTUALLY seems like I've been doing it alot lately!!

So.......remember...

IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE....

pull out your supplies and have the time of your life....
then link your goodness to the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog
Who know......YOU COULD BE A WINNER!!!

a FREE moment......

which lately seems to be few and far between.......far tooo much time shoveling walkways and roofs!!! and another storm is on the way.....I don't think I will be gaining my winter "5"....that's for sure!!

OK....so in that free time.....I created this slightly different piece of wall decor. I had purchased the silver thingymabob in the clearance isle at Wally World. The papers are from Reminisce....the Crazy in Love collection along with stickers.

I learned how to create the crocheted hearts on LITTLE BIRDIE SECRETS....I have made sooo many of these!!

You can't see it but there is a clear tube holding this little ditty together, with a wire hanger. And those rosettes....tooo much fun!!

Here is a Valentines Card made using those LOVELY hearts and a bit of a sneak for an upcoming kit I've been working with!! You will definitely need to stop back by to see my creations for Dixie Pieces!

Till then.......have a WONDERFUL CREATIVE DAY!!

Broken......

HEARTS HEAL!!!

Without going into details....life as I've know it has taken a twist.

I signed up to be a part of

I've not been real faithful as most of my spare time is taken up with assignment....but today I knew I needed to create this page, in truth the idea surfaced last night so I began ripping up the pages.

I am not typically a "journaler" but I wanted to get out of my box and try something different!!

For this spread, I knew I wanted to start with a the heart and it morphed from there!!!
EVOLUTION as Julie calls it.
I adhered torn dictionary pieces to the page with Multi Medium. I then, created a stencil and painted with Claudine Hellmuth's Studio ~ Dash of Red acrylic paint. The heart was spritzed with a Black Soot Reinker Mixture. To accentuate the heart, edges of the page and the verbage....
I used Claudine's Charcoal Black acrylic paint.

The flowers are from Prima and colored with watered down Dash of Red paint. The green, which to me signifies LIFE, is from a Lettuce Paint Dabber. The accents are Platinum Stickles.

I wanted to explain the symbolism of the page and this saying came to me........

WE WILL EMERGE AS A FLOWER.....FOREVER CHANGED BUT BEAUTIFUL!!

Today......that is what I hold on to!!

FYI.....do play along this week with the Simon Says Stamp and Show Teamies.......
they've created some FANTABULOUS stuff!!!

LCOM HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLOG HOP

WELCOME TO THE .............

I have been so wonderfully invited to join this bunch of talented women
for this WONDERFUL OCCASION....
Now.....my part in the blog hop is a bit different!!
(if you are just stopping by....
head over to the Let's Capture Our Memories blog to begin the Blog Hop!!)

I am going to give you a tutorial on how I made this coffee filter flower for my card created from Sandi's AWESOME sketch.

To make this little ditty I used the Spellbinders ~ Eyelet Circles Die

cut a #2 circle (#1 being the largest) from a piece of patterened paper
and a #3 circle from coffee filters (I stacked about 6 layers high)

I created 3 Reinker Mixtures
(they consist of a Mini Mister with a dropper full of Reinker Ink, a pinch of Perfect Pearls and water)

I spritzed (1) Spun Sugar
(2) Victorian Velvet
(1) Weathered Wood
of each of the coffee filter Eyelet Circles

THE KEY TO  THESE AWESOME FLOWERS
when drying the pieces MAN HANDLE (crumple) them up!!
DON'T BE AFRAID!!

Place a dab of white glue in the center of the Spun Sugar Eyelet Circle
Pinch at glue, from the back.

Cut a hole in the center of the (3) remaining colored Eyelet Circles.
Run the white glue around the hole.
Place point, of previous flower grouping, through hole.

Repeat process till flower is complete.
(You may use as many layers as you wish!!)
Cut petals into patterned paper Eyelet Circle at each scallop.

Ink edges of patterned paper flower.
Manhandle (crumple) it......Once again......don't be AFRAID!!

Place a dab of white glue in center of patterned paper flower
place coffee filter flower in glue. (trim point off if needed!!)

and there you have it......
CREATE THIS LITTLE DITTY and use it on a project.....and you get ANOTHER POINT!!

You have until Sunday, January 23rd at 11pm EST to complete all 8 sketches.
You'll get a point for each sketch you complete and a point for each secret element you get correct.
You can also get points for completing the card organizer and the flower tutorial.  You don't have to use the birthday theme if you don't want to.  Grab a blinkie when you are finished with all the sketches and tell us you are finished at the forum
