All you need......

IS LOVE!!!

the song title I chose to use for this weeks challenge over at

The inspiration for my burlap canvas was the heart. I adhered a piece of Canvas Corp ~ Canvas to a piece of chipboard with Multi Medium. I then die cut the heart and ran it through my Big Shot using an embossing folder.

I pulled out my Fired Brick Distress Ink and floated my Ink Blending Tool over the raised surface. I then spritzed the heart with my Spun Sugar Reinker Mixture. To define the edges, I used Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.

I used a piece of Canvas Corp ~ Cording and tied it around the heart.

On the Canvas Corp ~ Burlap Canvas, I used the Crafter's Workshop ~ Mini Harlequin Template, Black Gesso and Forever Red Perfect Pearls Mist.

'cause........ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!!!

Make sure to check my teamies amazing work..........

Anything but......

A card.......!!!

For this Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge, I went green!!

I pulled out a used Canvas Corp canvas. I painted on some Black Gesso. Spritzed the edges with Aged Mahogany Distress Reinker Mixture. Using Multi Medium I adhered down a piece of Tissue Wrap.

From a piece cardboard, I cut a Mini Birdcage, torn off a layer and brushed on some Tarnished Brass Crackle Paint.

I used some of my left over "water" creations, embossed with Swiss Dots and die cut the heart. The heart was then spritzed with an Aged Mahogany Distress Reinker and Forever Red Perfect Pearls Mist.

The finishing details were the LOVE Adage Ticket, Ruler Ribbon and Fired Brick Distress Stickles

So........whatcha gonna create??

and what is your.......

RED LETTER DAY???

the peeps over at Simon Says Stamp and Show want you to show us this week!!!

For this challenge, I chose to make a Birthday ATC.....because I believe the first and foremost
Red Letter Day is the day one is born!!!

Now, I want to give credit where credit is due. And credit goes to Cuchy. I am participating in Jump Start 2012 and watched her video about using toilet paper and embossing folders to create an ATC background. Well...let  me tell you.....I started dippin' EVERYTHING in water.....I just love how one idea can take me on the LONGEST BUNNY TRAIL!!

SO....what was I dipping in water......
CARDBOARD.....when run through the embossing folder it gave such a sharper image
ATC background ~ painted with Acrylic Paint, spritzed with Perfect Pearls Mist, high points sanded, floated Archival Ink over the high points.

CHEAP WATERCOLOR PAPER......totally changed the texture of the paper when it was run through the embossing folder. The spiral flower was made using this technique. I cut a spiral from a diecut circle, misted the spiral with a Distress Reinker Mixture, painted on some Distress Stain ~ on the edges, misted again (so the inks will run) and coiled up!

PAPER NAPKINS.....now these were rather thick and plush and ended up being my favorite of all the mediums used. Using the Tattered Pinecone die, diecut the image, rolled it on a toothpick (see Tim's video), misted with Distress Reinker Mixture, painted some Distress Stain on the edges and misted again!

Are these flowers not LUSCIOUS!!!

So........what thoughts come to your mind when "RED LETTER DAY" is mentioned??!?!

Link your creation up to the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog.....

whooo knows you could start of the New Year winning this little ditty!!!

WELCOME 2012

Something OLD....Something NEW.....
This weeks challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge Blog!!

As we ring in the New Year.........everyone is busy with their RESOLUTIONS for 2012!!
But not me this year......I've been inspired by some of the folks over at Swirlydoos to create an Art Journal focusing  monthly goals in the coming year!!! Now.......to me that sounds more attainable!

So, I put my thinkin cap on, pulled out a piece of Canvas Art Board
and let the creative process begin!!

For something OLD......
I pulled out some MAGIC MESH.....
love that stuff, some vintage lace and an ATC paper I've had FOREVER!!

The focal point of the cover is the Super Mega Bottle Cap. I placed the ATC paper at the bottom, cut to size, filled the bottle cap with Crackle Accents and then arrange the floral grouping of Petaloo flowers. Can I just say how I love the Forever Red Perfect Pearls mist on the Black Gesso
.....it just POPS!!!

Another product I just can't get enough of is the Chicken Wire Template!!! I spritzed Vintage Photo Reinker mixture, Forever Red Perfect Pearls Mist and Gathered Twig ink.....just LOVE THE LOOK!!

So.......how about you??? Did you make any Resolution???

I would love to see your take on this weeks challenge
Something Old......Something New!!
Be sure to link you creation to the Simon Says Stamp and Show Blog

who know you could be the first recipient of 2012 to win.....

I would like to leave you with this quote I found......

If it didn’t Bring you Joy
Just Leave it Behind.
Let’s Ring in the New Year

With Good Things in Mind.
Let Every Bad Memory Go
That Brought Heartache and Pain.
And Let’s Turn a New Leaf

With the Smell of New Rain.
Let’s Forget Past Mistakes
Making Amends for This Year.
Sending You These Greetings

To Bring you Hope and Cheer
Happy New Year!
