....and New Traditions are born!

It's been one HECK of a Year....
Lots and Lots of CHANGES!

As I've been told....
Change is a necessary thing
All I can say is.....boy it is a hard thing.

Especially this Christmas!
No kids at home with their wish lists....

Pushing me to get a Christmas Tree and decorate....
To plan a Christmas Dinner
or to even do any of our USUAL holiday traditions...

As part of my fix....
I started new traditions....
I pulled out my Canvas Corp Tree Skirt...
that I've been pondering on for awhile now....
Red High Impact Paint,
A Paintbrush....
and a little boy...

He was a bit under the weather....dang teeth!
Don't think he knew what to think
of the red paint all over his feet...
but he was SUCH a trooper!
(He loves to humor his NeeNee!)

....and so a tradition has been born!

....marking his FIRST Christmas....

I am looking forward to watching
this tradition grow for my daughter
and her family!

PS.....popped him in the tub and
the paint came off like
a charm.....even the bit NeeNee
got on his head!
Need to keep up the messy crafter tradition!

Merry Christmas to ALL!!

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories
and love of kindred,
and we are better throughout the year for having,
in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.

Playin' with 'tovers....

Gratitude Canvas by Lynne Forsythe

Recently, I've been working like crazy on crafty projects....one day while cleaning up my crafting space, I came across a BUNCH of 'tovers..... you know the "pieces parts" that get pulled out or created that NEVER make it onto your creation. That is the basis for my canvas.

Gratitude Canvas by Lynne Forsythe

I began with a Canvas Corp Brands Natural Canvas,
some OHHH SOOO FUN new products I've been working with....PERFECT PAINTS!
and one of my FAVORITE Templates ~ Garden Gate ~ TCW382.
 TCW-1108-2
I applied the texture mediums through the template, when dry I applied a bit of Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Mist ~ Crushed Shells.

A season of GIVING not GETTING!

Hi Peeps....
I've been meaning to post my Giving Advent Calendar that I created.

The idea behind my Advent Calendar is to teach kids....
this is a season of GIVING not GETTING.

For the pockets I used a mixture of
Canvas and Burlap
Mini Pocket

I folded the shapes in half
and embellished with LOTS of Petaloo Flowers.

No two pockets are alike!

Each pocket has it's own
which can be personalized to your family.
Some ideas....
Bring Coffee to a Bell Ringer
Donate Dog/Cat food to an Animal Shelter
Make a card for someone
ie: elderly or military person
Drop off a toy to be given to a needy child etc.

When talking about this with my 19 year old son
he said he remembered when we did this
and it's one of his BEST CHRISTMAS MEMORIES!!

Hope you enjoyed my Advent Calendar!

....a Farmhouse Christmas!

Christmas is right around the corner, and time is about to become a premium! With that in mind, I created simple yet beautiful projects using Spellbinder dies and the oh sooo gorgeous Farmhouse Christmas Collection by Canvas Corp Brands.

My first creation was my Gift Card Tree Tag. I don’t know about you but I prefer to buy gift cards for my adult children because then I know they will buy something they really want and will use!

I created a pictorial tutorial on how I created my Gift Card Tree Tag.

I began by cutting our two tags, one from Canvas Corp Brands Farmhouse Christmas paper and the other from a piece of Ivory cardstock. Then using one of the Border Dies from the Bow Couture Shapeabilities Dies I cut a bow into the Farmhouse Christmas Tag.

I then cut a 2.25” x 2.25” piece of Canvas Corp Brands ~ Natural Linen Paper and painted it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam ~ Roses R Red.

When dry, I used the complimenting insert from the Bow Couture Shapeabilities Dies.

I pulled out a few of my 7gypsies goodies, Mini Keys and Jump Rings along with some White Mini Bags from Canvas Corp Brands.

I used the 7gypsies goodies along with “Happy Holidays” cut from the Farmhouse Christmas Stripe on Ivory, to embellishment my Gift Card Tree Tag and to hold the tags together.

I adhered the embossed and colored Bow Couture to the tag along with the Mini Bag.

And tied a piece of Canvas Corp Brands Jute ~ Black around the tag.

Attached the two tags together for an Easy Peasy Gift Card Tree Tag.

I couldn’t stop creating with the Spellbinder’s dies so
I made 2 bonus projects using Spellbinder’s Nestabilities ~ Majesty Dies
Two Simply Elegant Christmas Cards

I just love the Farmhouse Christmas Tags on Ivory.
They were the PERFECT additions to my Simply Elegant Christmas Cards.

It's the Simple Things.......

Just sound this saved in draft......ENJOY!!
It was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT when I laid my eyes on the
Faith Collection by Authentique
coupled with Petaloo Teastained Cream Darjeeling Collection
PURE HEAVEN!
Simplethings9
I used a rustic 12 x 12 window box that I
had picked in my travels.
Along with lots of chippies and resins
to accent the BEAUTIFUL paper.
Yes....that is chicken wire you see nestled in the corner
behind the moss and Darjeeling flower cluster
accented with a Berry Cluster.
OMW....I love this quote!
"I am in charge of how I feel and today I am
choosing happiness"!
I adhered the Details Cardstock Sticker
to a piece of cardboard for a bit of dimension.
Faith Hope and Love....but the greatest of these is LOVE!
Petaloo's Burlap trim worked wonderfuly to help
finish off the last square.
Here are a few closeups of the
BEAUTIFUL Petaloo Flowers used.

I hope you have enjoyed my latest creations...
I am off to find a place to hang this beauty
for DAILY INSPIRATION!

Hello The Crafter's Workshop and Viva Las VegaStamps Fans!!
So GLAD you stopped by to see my creation made using products from
these two amazing companies!
We Remember Canvas by Lynne Forsythe
I created a tutorial on how I made my canvas background for you viewing pleasure!
or it can also be viewed HERE!
We Remember Canvas by Lynne Forsythe
I began by applying a layer of Shimmering Matte Artist Acrylic Paint to a Canvas Panel. Then with stamps chosen from my Viva Las VegaStamps Pound O Rubber, I stamped randomly on the surface.

Next I applied various texture mediums through The Crafter's Workshop
Coffee ~Splotches 6 x6 template and Today Framed Fragment with a palette knife.

I again randomly stamped my surface with Viva Las VegaStamps Pound O Rubber stamps and Archival Ink, embracing the imperfect stamping due to the texture.

I applied a layer of Shimmering Matte Artist Acrylic onto a piece of Kraft Cardstock then proceeded to stamp leaf images onto the surface,
which I in turn I cut out to accent my flower.

Here is a close up of my finished background.

Be the heroine......

Howdy Crafter's Workshop Fans.....
Have you played with TCW Fragments yet??
Lynne Forsythe here with one of my latest projects
using one of these little goodies!
Be The Heroine by Lynne Forsythe
2035HeartstringsFragments
I, first, created the background of my card face by stamping and spritzing
on a Kraft Skinny Card.
Then, I "roughly" applied Embossing Paste through the Heartstrings fragment,
Be The Heroine by Lynne Forsythe
on the upper and lower corners.

When dry I gave the "hearts" a good spritz of Glimmer Mist!
Which made those Heartstring hearts just pop.
I finished off the card with odds and ends I had laying
around and finished it up with a quote.
If you haven't played with some of these little ditties....you should give
them a try....I know I loved the results!
