Pantone Color of the Year ~ Ultra Violet

Welcome to the Pantone Color of the year ~ Ultra Violet challenge.
I have to say....violet or purple is not my favorite color to work with!
So, I decided to just jump in with both feet......
I pulled out a piece of Canvas Corp ~TissueStock
several stencils and a couple of colors of Violet
and a few tubs of The Crafter's Workshop ~ Modeling Paste
and began layering the colors.

As I said previously, I REALLY struggled with the purple.
So, to help tone it down a bit,
I pulled out a bit of Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glam ~ Bon Bon
and dropped color onto my "made paper".

....even with all the layers, the TissueStock was still a bit flimsy
so I decided to adhered it to a piece of vintage sheet music.

As I was diggin' in my 'Tovers pile,
I found another piece of "made paper" with the same color palette
and a light bulb came on in my head.

I began to tear up my "made paper" and
adhered it to my found 'Tovers "made paper".

But, I still wasn't  TOTALLY happy so
I pulled out a bit of cheese cloth
and applied it to my "paper".

Then, I stenciled on a bit more of the Crafter's Workshop ~ Modeling paste.

...but it still wasn't quite finished yet.
So, I dropped a bit more "violet" onto my paper
and finished it off with some splatters
of The Crafter's Workshop ~ Gesso.

YEAH....now I was happy with my "Made Paper".
I cut it up into ATCs and made a few cards.

Here are my finished Ultra Violet cards....

Hope you enjoyed my journey of "Ultra Violet".

Heart Full of Love Online Workshop

I am SOOO EXCITED to announce my
Heart Full of Love Mixed Media Online Class!
I have to say, this is such a fun Mixed Media class!
I am looking forward to guiding you along on this Creative Adventure.
We begin our journey by transforming the color of the velvet flowers,
using Heavy Body Acrylic paint.
We will use a fun color mixing technique
which I will demonstrate in easy to follow steps.
Then it's off to alter our 8" x 10" canvas.
We will be using a wide range of products
to create our textured background
including burlap, vintage fabric, modeling paste, gesso and more.
Next, we will proceed to create our focal point.
I will share with you one of my favorite coloring techniques
that we will us it to alter the large white, fabric mum.
Our creative journey will almost be complete
but not until we alter a piece of chipboard.

We, then, bring it all home by adhering all of the
beautifully altered pieces parts onto our super textured canvas.

Playing along.....

Hello my friends......
LOVE is in the AIR!!
....and Valentine's Day is right around the corner.

I had already created some "paper" that
I thought I was going to use for another challenge
but it fit this challenge perfectly!!
I created my "paper" by adhering various papers, fabrics and textures
to a piece of printed paper.

I mixed a bit of Mudd Puddles ~ Sand with a bit of
The Crafter's Workshop ~ White Pearl Modeling Paste.
I applied it to my "paper" through
an UmWowStudio stencil ~ Hexagon Confetti Stencil.

When dry, I applied Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Glam ~ Bon Bon
with a pipette, drying between layers,
until I had achieved my desired look.

I then, cut the paper into mini ATC's.
I found it easier to cut from the backside of my"paper".
I just love how every ATC is so different from another.

With the leftover "paper" I cut out various sized hearts.

Then, using a pipette filled with
Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Mist ~ Red Chillies
I dropped the color onto the hearts.

Don't they look AMAZING!!

Here are my finished Valentine Cards.
I used Impression Obsession/Yvonne Blair Designs
Everyday Quotes 2
They were just PERFECT for my cards.

 Hope you enjoyed my
Love filled cards!!
